Coriolanus is actor Ralph Fiennes’ directorial debut, based on William Shakespeare’s less-hyped eponymous play written between 1605 and 1608. It is based on the life of the heroic Roman leader, Caius Martius Coriolanus. The film is a modern adaptation of the play that encountered a ban in France in 1930s for its usage by the fascist element. A download of this movie carries us to the war-torn terrains of Serbia, where most of it is shot.

The film demands a keen watch, for Fiennes has transformed the 17th century tragedy into a contemporary tale of modern warfare. While the language of Coriolanus remains Shakespeare’s, the turmoil brought in by the war, the radical hypocrisies, and the picture of a violently rebellious mob conforms to the modern era. As we catch the film online, we get a taste of Fiennes’s acting skills, as he portrays the lead character in the film, simultaneously testing his directorial abilities.

A Coriolanus download reveals the kind of clarity in Ralph’s phrasing that could compel the audience to hear him with eyes closed, as if his visual performance wasn’t equally enticing.

The plot revolves around Coriolanus, a roman general, who is pushed by his mother Volumnia to snatch stand in the run for the consul. Rome is in absolute disorder, as the masses were still angry at the expulsion of the seventh and the final king of Rome, Lucius Tarquinius Superbus and his family.

For the position of the consul, Coriolanus needed support from the Roman, something that he was largely deprived of. He vents out his anger at the public and gets himself expelled from Rome! As we Watch Coriolanus online, we find the general joining hands with his old enemy Tullus Aufidius in order to extract his revenge from the city.

The film ventures into the general Martius code of conduct preceding the uprising that included his duty to protect the masses that were completely unlike him, and fight Tullus Aufidius – a similar natured man and Rome’s principal foe. Both relationships experience a complete switchover, as Martius, now angry with the Roman masses, decides to inflict damage on them by shaking hands with his enemy Tullus!

Done in by disdain and worthless pride, Martius, amidst all the war factions, guerrilla insurgencies, mass uprisings and family problems, is robbed off power, forcing him to swear by Rome’s destruction.

Cinematographer Barry Ackroyd from the fame of The Hurt Locker adds to restore balance in the visual density of portraying both the opulence of the general’s mansion and the war-torn and troubled lands of Rome. Ray Beckett, the sound artist who worked with Barry on The Hurt Locker, has mixed sounds for this movie, nearly sealing a gap of centuries between scripting of the play and its remake as a feature film.
