plane crash in Narita Airport

A FedEx Cargo plane flying from Guangzhou, China, to Tokyo, Japan, crashes in Narita Airport this morning around 6.50am (5.50am Singapore Time). The Plane , Model MD-11, was attempting to land on the runway but it was disturbed by a sudden gust of strong wind just when it was about to land, causing it to crash, explode and it went bursting into flames.

Both American Pilot Kevin Kyle Mosley, 54, and copilot Anthony Stephen Pino, 49, were the only crew members on board. They were confirmed to be dead after they were sent to the local hospital. According to local weather station, strong winds of up to 47 miles per hour were blowing around the Narita airport around the time of the accident.

Affected by the crash, longer of the two runways were closed on Monday morning and a total of 38 flights were canceled by Japan Airlines Corp. and All Nippon Airways Co. This was reported as the first major fatal accident that happened in Narita Airport which was Tokyo’s second busiest airport.

think it’s because of the wind and turbulence that affected it’s landing.
