CBR003552How many people in the world are able to take up a job that they love doing so? Do you think your parents love doing what they are doing? OR are they working for the sake of working? For money? For the family? In primary school, i remembered that “My ambition” is a really common topic for essay writing. But however, how many of you really succeeded in becoming what you really want to be?

Every morning, you can see mobs crowding around or moving towards the MRT. Working adults rushing to their workplace. As i look at them, it’s really hard to believe that i will be like “them” in couple more years time. Having facing more responsibility like paying bills, flats loan etc. Can’t we be like a school kid forever? Actually, i am really worried now. I am afraid that i won’t be able to do a job that i like, the type of working environment that i want. Are you feeling the same?

Here’s one scenario,if you are employed as a consultant and earns $10, 000 monthly but you don’t really like that job, will you quit? OR Will you rather do a job that you love, earning$5,000 lesser? I know this question really depends alot in the type of situation that you are in. Burden of kids, family, school fees, debts etc. But taking those factors out of consideration, will you?

Personally, i have a few working friends that i talked to recently. 4 out of 5 of my friends don’t really like their job. When i asked them why still stay while you don’t like it? The replies that i get is, “Well, the pay is good :( ” … Are you like that too? Are more singaporeans becoming money slaves? What is your point of view ?

Do you love your current job or not?

My childhood dream was to be a bus driver… now I am a engineer.
I still hope to be a bus driver someday, after I paid off my HDB flat and have some money to not worry about lower pay.. BTW, I do love my current job, its just that I also like to try do different things for fun.
