Windows 7 was officially launched today, Oct 22nd 2009 at 8 am EDT in New York City; the product was unveiled by CEO of Microsoft, Steve Ballmer, who presided over the launch ceremony that was held at an event in Times Square New York City. High delegates from Microsoft and its partners were also present at the event, which included CEO from Dell, HP, Toshiba and several beta testers and techno-enthusiasts.
Windows 7 is the new operating system launched by Microsoft after Windows Vista which did not fare very well with the customers. The pre-launch reports of Windows 7 are good.
Windows 7 is available as of today with retailers for consumers, business houses, software developers and other enterprises. The pre-launch copies of Windows 7 that were distributed in UK and with some other programmers have very good reports and most consumers who have used it for a week or month are all praises for it.
At the Microsoft Global Exchange Conference, Microsoft officially announced that Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 R2 are ready for release to manufacturing to the OEM’s and other Partners.

After all the quality checks were met build 7600 was declared as RTM.
Due to the failure of WindowsVista people were eagerly looking forward to the launch of Windows 7. The pre launch reports from consumers are good. Some customers who got their copies early due to an impending strike in the British Royal Mail service and some other got for other reasons are praising its speed and performance. This one from Microsoft seems to be a sure winner.
